A major Trade Union with under developed budgetary procedures and little management information.

Our Brief

To conduct a comprehensive Value for Money (VFM) review of budgetary arrangements and Management Information Systems for budget holders and overall financial management.

Our Approach

This assignment required:

¨ sensitivity, tact, diplomacy and understanding to succeed in an organisation with unsophisticated management information systems;

¨ pragmatism - since the financial and IT personnel had little experience outside their own organisation, a sensitive and encouraging, rather than a "text-book" approach was needed;

¨ professional determination - to edge the client team forward by discussion and example whilst not compromising on the best solution.

Our Achievements

¨ completed a "VFM" review of budgetary arrangements
¨ proposed and implemented a new budget holding structure and the associated procedures
¨ developed and assisted delivery of a training programme
¨ specified new financial systems to provide management information
¨ project managed system selection and implementation.
