National Charity - Organisational Restructuring

Our Client

The Communications, Campaigning, Marketing and Fundraising Division of a National Charity with a total staffing complement of 500 people.

Our Brief

To advise on the development of the Divisional Strategy and to assist with the implementation process.

Our Approach

As always with a revised strategy, people will be nervous of what it might mean and how it will affect them.

We therefore aimed to complete the strategy development rapidly to help build confidence and maintain team spirit during this process of change.

It was important that we were sensitive to concerns and encouraged the staff to collaborate in the process.

We dealt with these issues by ensuring our approach was:

¨ consultative - including a number of bespoke, workshops and a staff communications programme;
¨ collaborative - enabling us to align disparate individual objectives and get the team "pulling in the same direction";
¨ sensitive - involving staff in the process to secure ownership and commitment.

Our Achievements

Within a short period of time a strategy had been compiled and translated into an action programme.

Specifically we:

¨ aligned the objectives and strategy of the Division with those of a new Corporate Strategy;
¨ developed a new organisation structure to meet the revised objectives and strategy;
¨ advised on job descriptions/specifications for new/modified posts;
¨ advised on the implementation aspects.
