Delivering business value through IT
Thursday-14-January-2010
Phrases such as “aligning IT with the business” and “obtaining business benefit from IT” are often used but seldom fully understood. In principle, the concept sounds great – but what does it actually mean in practice, and more importantly, how do we go about achieving it?
This seminar, which will be useful for senior business managers and IT managers alike, answers the above questions and will provide a practical framework which focuses on the following key issues:
How to identify where increased business benefits are possible though effective use of IT
How to drive through the achievement of these benefits and measure them
Developing an integrated IT strategy that ‘pays back’
It is our belief that IT is more than just an ‘enabler’ – when used effectively and in conjunction with a sound organisational strategy, it can be a source of business value in its own right. The most successful organisations are those which ruthlessly exploit technology, such that it is used it in a way that directly contributes toward their core objectives. This type of situation provides a ‘win-win’ outcome for both business managers and IT staff, the latter (in our opinion) often having skills and experience that are under-utilised and which could potentially contribute towards transforming not for profit organisations for the better.
During this event, there will be opportunities for attendees to ask questions of consultants who specialise in assisting not-for-profit organisations with the strategic use of IT, and to share experiences with other delegates who are likely to be facing similar issues.
