Data Protection Act Compliance

Tuesday-8-December-2009

  • Understanding the Act
  • Common areas of risk
  • A risk based approach to compliance

In the first part of the workshop we consider the most relevant parts of the Act itself including the 8 principles of good information handling. The aim is to impart to you a good understanding of the Act and the actions you must take to comply with the regulations.

We then move on to discuss the common areas of risk that BlueSpark has identified during the course of its data protection compliance work for many voluntary and not-for-profit organisations. We consider practical actions and steps that you can take to avoid the common pitfalls.

We will finish the workshop by looking at a risk based approach to compliance and it significant benefits. This is an approach that we have found to be most effective and have introduced very successfully to numerous not-for-profit organisations.

There will be ample opportunity throughout the workshop to raise your data protection concerns and questions with our consultants and share your experiences with delegates from other not-for-profit organisations.

Full refunds will be made for written cancellation when received 10 or more days in advance. Thereafter no refunds will be available, but substitute delegates will be accepted. Full payment is required before the event.
